Key features
- Local processing
- No upload required
- Template-based naming
- Batch file preview
- Download with new name
How templates work
Use placeholders in the template: {title}, {artist}, {album}, {year}, {track}, {disc}, {ext}. For example, "{artist} - {title}" produces "Artist Name - Song Title.mp3".
Track number padding
Enable zero-padding to format track numbers as 01, 02, … instead of 1, 2, …. This keeps files sorted correctly in most file explorers.
Downloading renamed files
Click the save button next to each file to download it with the new name. The file content is unchanged — only the file name differs.
Common use cases
Rename music files from embedded tags
Preview names like "Artist - Title" or "01 - Title" using metadata already stored in MP3, FLAC, M4A, OGG, or WAV files.
Prepare filenames for self-hosted music servers
Create consistent filenames before importing music into Navidrome, Jellyfin, a NAS folder, or a local OFPlayer library.
Clean up mixed download folders
Use templates and track number padding to make albums sort correctly in file explorers and music players.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool rename files on my disk?
No. Renaming files on disk is not possible in a web browser. This tool lets you download each file with its new name. The original files on your disk are not modified.
What if a tag field is empty?
If a placeholder has no matching tag value, it is replaced with "Unknown" — for example, "Unknown Artist".
Is there a file limit?
There is no hard limit, but very large files may slow down metadata reading. For batch renaming of hundreds of files, a desktop tool like Mp3tag may be more efficient.
