Switch devices and pick up at the same second

Send the song to your phone on the way out, and take it back on the computer when you sit down. Once OFPlayer for Windows and OFPlayer for Android are paired on the same network, the current track and position move between them.

Key features

Highlights

Same position

Handoff carries the current track and position, and the other device continues from where you were.

Confirmed before it switches

The device that is playing confirms it is letting go before the other one starts, so two devices never play together.

See the other device

While the phone plays, the computer’s playback bar shows “Playing on your phone” with its progress. One click continues on the computer.

Both directions

On the phone, tap Play here to move what the computer is playing to the phone; on the computer, choose Continue on this computer to bring it back.

How to hand off

Pair and sync first

Handoff uses the same pairing as LAN streaming. Enable pairing in Settings › Devices on the computer, connect from the phone and sync the library.

Send the computer’s song to the phone

While the computer plays, the phone shows what is playing there. Tap Play here and the song moves over at its current position.

Continue on the computer

While the phone plays, the computer shows “Playing on your phone”. Choose Continue on this computer; it takes over once the phone confirms.

When a handoff doesn’t go through

“This song isn’t synced to the phone yet”: sync the computer’s library on the phone again, then retry. The phone didn’t confirm in time: playback stays on the phone, so nothing stops or doubles. Try again shortly. If the network drops before the result is confirmed, playback pauses; hand off again once the network is back.

Frequently asked questions

How is Handoff different from Listen Together?

Handoff moves one person’s playback from one device to another, so only one device plays at a time. Listen Together lets two people hear the same song on two devices at once.

Will both devices play during a handoff?

No. The other device starts only after the playing one confirms. If confirmation times out, playback stays where it was.

Does it work away from home Wi-Fi?

Handoff relies on local network pairing, so both devices need to be on the same network.

Is Handoff a paid feature?

Playback handoff and LAN streaming are OFPlayer Pro features, and an active OFPlayer Hub subscription includes them.
